Lúmina Trio

About us

trio Lúmina was created in summer 2024 and consists of vocals, double bass, and guitar.

Our name, "Lumina", that comes from the Latin word "to illuminate" or "to give light", embodies our philosophy: to create music that inspires and gives warmth and comfort.

We draw our creative energy from the rich diversity of cultures, languages, and traditions worldwide. Every melody we play tells a story and celebrates the beauty and singularity of our musical heritage.

Our journey began in Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden, where our paths crossed as students.

Though we come from different cities and countries and have different backgrounds, music brought us together.

Let us introduse ourselves:

Voice · Chernihiv, Ukraine

Let us introduce the person without whom Lumina wouldn’t exist — Vlada

Born in Chernihiv, Ukraine, she began her musical journey not with vocals, but with the clarinet. Why? No one really knows — not even her. Later Vlada discovered her voice and started her vocal studies at the music college in Chernihiv. Her path led her to the Hochschule für Musik in Dresden, where our musical journey began — and where Vlada united us as a band.

From the start, Vlada has quietly held everything together — with her pastel markers, beautiful handwritten notes, and a bag that somehow always has whatever you forgot.

She never starts her day without a beautifully arranged breakfast and if you offer her a slice of good bread with butter or a cup of matcha — she’s yours. Photos, videos, books and aesthetic ideas? That’s all Vlada. Photography was actually her first job. And just when you think she can’t possibly do more — she’s doing pilates, learning another language, cross stitching or reading. We’re not even sure she knows the full list of her hobbies...

Vlada is gentle, focused, funny, endlessly talented — and always glowing with quiet magic.

If there’s one person who can turn any challenge into an opportunity, it’s our Lisa!

One of the first people Lisa met when she arrived at Hochschule für Musik in Dresden was Masha. They quickly got along - exploring the Hochschule für Musik together, sharing some tea, stories, and of course, making an apple pie. After all, if you ask Lisa, she just can’t imagine her life without a nice cake once in a while!

Lisa’s mind is always buzzing with ideas, especially when it comes to arranging our music. Her creativity and ability to see things from a fresh perspective have played a huge part in shaping the sound of our trio. And when she practices, she does it with passion and dedication - always pushing the limits to be the best version of herself.

She’s also the kind of person who can’t stay at home for long. Being alone and doing nothing is never an option - whether it’s participating in thousands of projects or running across the city with her contrabass late at night to make sure it’s back on time, Lisa is always ready to take on a challenge. It’s that drive and enthusiasm that fuels everything she does!

With her strength, intelligence, and boundless motivation, Lisa is not just our bassist - she’s the heartbeat of our trio, and we wouldn’t be the same without her!

Masha Sova

the person who brings warmth, sunshine, and a whole lot of joy to our music – Masha Sova !

First things first: those beautiful white hair clips you see on our three curly heads? Yep, Masha’s idea! And that perfectly sums her up - thoughtful, creative, and always adding something special.

When we think of Masha, we think of coziness, laughter, and endless positivity. Her presence lights up every rehearsal, and her contagious laugh is simply unforgettable!

Masha and Vlada’s story began in 2022 when, without even knowing her well, Masha welcomed Vlada to stay over before her conservatory entrance exam. They ended up talking half the night, and that’s how a beautiful friendship was born. Fast forward a bit - when Vlada and Liza started creating music together, they knew they needed a third musician. And guess who came to mind immediately? Masha!

A classical guitarist now diving into the world of jazz, Masha brings authenticity, depth, and her own lyrical touch to our trio. We couldn’t be happier to have her on this journey with us!
